The Idea:

I was messing with Kozaburo's new Wave Hair, and.... this happened.  He isn't supposed to look like he's chewing on the rose, though.  Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

Tools:

     Poser 4, Photoshop 4

Wave Hair by Kozaburo
Rose by Robin Wood

Everything:

This is Michael, with a lightened/desaturated version of his skin. Kozaburo's Wave Hair with dark texture.  It is parented to the upper neck and inheriting bends so it semi-automatically flows with the pose.  I morphed Michael's head a little, to close his eyes (of course) and do the lip/tongue stuff, and to make his nose a bit upturned and 'pixie' like.  He has pointy elf ears too, but I couldn't get them to poke through the hair.

The rose has a magnet tossed on it to bend it over a bit.  I messed with the underlying object colour to get a pink rose (the texture is more white with red edges).

I couldn't get the lips and tongue to glisten as much as the rose petals were (before I made their highlights bigger), so I painted some on in 'Shop.  I used a white paintbrush on a new layer, smeared it out a bit and did the hard light mode, with transparency turned down 'til it looked decent and subtle enough.
His eyebrows insisted on coming out huge and clunky, so I turned them totally transparent.  The brows on the skin map were the only ones left, and those where lightened and de-saturated out.  So I painted these on.  I used a hairy brush, then put the blur on it to blend it with the head a bit.
I had a terrible time with the shadows of the hair. With the shadow-casting light's map set to 1024, the shadows on his neck behind the front strands came out all blotchy.  When I set it to 4096, the shadows came out all blotchy and REALLY dark and ugly! :(  So I set it back to 1024, and use a lot of hairy smearing on the neck area, there.

I used the Poser TIF mask to cut everything off the background, and put in this dusky blue to rosy grey gradient in.  The text is St Charles, italicized, and set to Overlay.
