The Idea:

I wanted to experiment with lighting and form over musculature.

Tools:

     Poser 4, Photoshop 4

Enzo's Braveheart Hair by me

Figures:

This is Michael with standard skin, Enzo's Braveheart Hair; and the Percheron from the Heavy Horse by 3D Menagerie.   One spot light, two infinite, low-intensity lights.

This is the pose/tableau my brain came up with.... It looks good from so many angles, I couldn't pick just one.  I guess it should be a marble sculpture instead of a computer image.
After getting the light in the right spot for the first image... I wasn't going to mess with the lighting any more.  So I borrowed a trick from my Ray Dream scene-building days: rotating the scene instead of the camera!  I just parented the Percheron to Michael, and then rotated Michael's body around.  The lights stayed still relative to the camera, and with a bit of camera/light tweaking, the other renders were easy to make.

Not much in the way of post on these.  Mane, fetlock, tail, and hair brushing.  Some blurring on the more stark lines of Michael's skin (I used negative Thin morph and some Tone... that tends to cause some lines at muscle edges).  No elbow or knee problems on this one.  I tweaked some spots where the texture seam on the horse was, and some crunching around the front legs.
The only outstanding thing I did was to sample a midtone colour from Michael's skin.  Then I used the same tone in reddish, cyanish-green, and bluish hues on a new layer over his skin, composited in overlay mode.  It's very subtle, but it gives his skin that hint of trasnlucent colour in various areas.

Text was added, too. (Of course.)
