The Idea:

Just a vision thang.  You may notice I'm rather fond of pathos and ethos.

Tools:

     Poser 4, Photoshop 4, KPT 3

Physique by R_Kane
Dr. Morpheen by Syyd Raven (avilable at Renderosity Free Stuff)

Figures:

This is Michael, with his yellowized-skin texture on a yellowish-brown base, and the long curls;  and Physique with Dr. Morpheen skin on a lavender base, with the male afro hair.

Michael started in the "angel" pose, but I stood him on the ground and brought his arms forward.  Physique also started in a lying-down Michael pose by DD.  I also brough his arms down and forward, and adjusted his legs.  And that was pretty much it.  I tooks some of my hand poses I had saved up for Michael and put them on his hands, then used the hand cameras to get the arms, hands, and fingers properly in place.

In 'Shop, I smoothed out some of Physique's sharp angles, and I did the hair bit.  I copied the smooth afro to a new layer and hit it with Hue Protected Noise.  I made two copies of that, and hit one with the minimize filter, and one with the maximize.  Stacked them at about 55% transparency, and got the light/dark nubby texture. (Which you can't really see in this version.)
I also discovered a decent way to paint tears (yes, they're very subtle).  In a new layer, I took a small paintbrush and dabbed on some white paint about where the highlights on the tear tracks would be.  Then I smeared (do NOT sample merged) them down and around into shape.  Turned that layer into Colour Dodge mode, and adjusted the opacity until it came out decent.  Plus some more touching up with the white dabs and smearing, and I had to airbrush-erase the ones over Michael, as they were too strong on his lighter skin.
