The Idea:

After making the New, Improved Frog (see "Test Render of the New, Improved Zygote Frog"), and an 'ad' pic for the package, I noticed the poor Zygote DragonFly was having a rough time of it.  (Also, I needed a pre-release frog pic for PoserForum.)  This is what happens when you turn your back on the new frog while working in Poser.  That tongue is quick!

Tools:

Poser 4, Paint Shop Pro 3, Adobe Photoshop 4

Pose:

This is the bullfrog texture again.  This is also a pose I saved of the frog with its legs tucked under, which is very handy.  The front legs are moved back, and the head tilted up a bit.  And all the feet put on the ground.

The poor dragonfly is stuffed into the frog's mouth, with its wings all bent over, and it's tail sticking out (I enlarged the tail... that dragonfly is skinny!)  The frog's mouth is slightly opened, and the throat given a little 'ribbet' expansion.  He also has a slight frown, and is looking up rather guiltily.

I positioned the lights and turned down the darn shadows.  I like to use shadow intensities of .8, .5, and .3.  They look much better. I had to lighten up the wings considerably, and make them transparent as well.  Then I rendered the scene.  After that, I used the PSP screen capture to nab the Poser window.

Composite:

I cropped the silly start menu bar off the picture, then sized the whole thing down a bit.  I used the cloning tool to erase the parts of the dragonfly icon (in the drawer... or 'no longer in the drawer' more like it) outside it's circle.  For the inside, I just selected the circle, then filled it with it's base colour.
The cursor pointer was in the wrong spot, so I erased it and recaptured a new one to put in place.

The text is Comics and... something else.  The speech bubble is an ellipse and triangle selection filled with white.  Ooh, tough.  And the thought bubble was drawn with the pencil, using round dots to make it up.

The Idea:

Some people had a hard time 'getting' "Chomp," so I made another pic, this time with a mischievous tree frog.

Tools:

Poser 4, Paint Shop Pro 3, Adobe Photoshop 4

Quick Rundown:

This was going to be a one-shot Poser render.  I opened Poser and used PSP to capture the corner of my screen.  Then I made a matching black and white template in 'Shop for a transparency map, and put them on the ground plane in Poser.  Using the top camera gave this view.  Then I positioned the tree frog in/on the interface.

It rendered quite nicely.  Unfortunately, I was not happy with the placement of the library thumbnails, so I took the render into 'Shop for some post-production messing around.  I moved the dragonfly and company down to a better position, and erased out the double shadow that the tongue ended up with.
