I discovered this image while screwing around in VistaPro 3D. Nobody's ever commented on the image sorta-visible in this work.... You do see it, don't you? Okay, if you DON'T see it, Email me! Geeze! :)
VistaPro 3D, Fractal Design Painter X2, Photoshop 2.5
The night skies VP3D produces are really atrocious,
so I created my own. I used a large-gauge airbrush to spray a black
field modulated with dark purple. In FDPx2, I auto-cloned a single-pixel
brush to create a random star pattern. With a single-pixel airbrush
with a high skip rate, I tried making some star concentrations near the center,
but the spacing was too regular.
I exported to 'Shop, and added some star-shaped custom brush
touches here and there.
It was simple, really. In VP3D, I put the camera
a few thousand feet over the target and pointed it straight down. The
bizarre angle wraps the VP map around in an asteroid-like shape.
I exported it to 'Shop and pasted it io the background. I
used a little dodge to lighten up the stars around the "head" and sweep the
glow into a partial halo.
This is a restrained matte, created with the 'Shop canvas sizing. The letters are simple also, though I did airbrush them to give them a bit of modulation of colour.
