ZABEA HOLIDAY SPECIAL 2008


   Zabea has been gone for quite some time, but... we have decided to bring it back for a Holiday Special, so old folks can relive the fun and games, and new folks can experience it in all its glory.  The Holiday Special will run from Dec 21 - Dec 31, 2008.  New!  See below for a Schedule... or at least as far as I've decided when to do stuff.

Quick Start Guide

   If you have NWN, go to Multiplayer to connect to Zabea.

   If you do NOT have NWN but want to get it, this is what you need.

Neverwinter Nights (the original, NOT 2)
Shadows of Undrentide expansion
Hordes of the Underdark expansion
   You can get all three in a 'combo pack' game. See right.

Zabea HAK files
   These are custom content files; you cannot connect without them.  Extract all the files to your NWN "hak" directory.

WinRAR
   You may need a RAR archive utility to extract rar compressed files. (NWN files compress much better under rar than zip. you think 125M is big?)

Optional:  LETO Character Editor
   Use this if you want to select a different portrait, soundset, or appearance for your character.
   Do NOT change your stats or other numeric stuff, or your character will be "illegal" and you won't be able to join the server.

Optional:  Character Leveller Module
   Run this module to create a new character and level up, get gear and equipment, etc.
   Tip: you can edit the module to create your own custom gear and clothing and throw it on the ground to pick up when you play.

Note:  You can level your character right in the Zabea Holiday Special module, and see about buying some gear in town.
You can also make custom clothing at the TASEC shop in the center of town.


Connecting:
  
1:  Start NWN.  On the first list of boxes, hit Multiplayer.

2:  If you don't have a User Name, you can create one.  This is your player name, not your character name.  It doesn't have to be your REAL real name.
     If you do have a name, just log in.

3:  Now more choices.  You want to "Join Internet Game."

4:  You will now connect to NWN via GameSpy.  If you get a message that says "GameSpy Disconnected," you want to cancel out back to the main menu and reconnect, because it is flaky.
     You want the Alternate room, Hide Server Vault filter.  Note the picture below.


1: Click on Alternative in this pane.
2:  X Hide Server Vault.
3:  You should see the ZABEA_HOLIDAY server running the ZABEA-Holiday module.  Woot!  Click it.
4:  Then click the Connect button.
