     Welcome!  If you were wondering what the heck Zabea is, and if you might like to play, and other useful info about the world and our server, you've come to the right place.

Server Rules:	Item Level Restriction, Enforce Legal Characters
Levels:	1-40 (I recommend starting at 8 or so if you want to build up your character in play)
Character Restrictions:	we are freeform, you can play anything you want.  no deities or other ridiculously-omnipotent characters, though.
Item Restrictions:	currently none.
Death Penalty:	you will stay dead for THREE WHOLE MINUTES. (oh, the agnoy!)  no, no xp/gp penalties.  (this may change, see our Guild.)
Play Style:	Free Form Role Play.  (not Hack'n'Slash, not PowerGaming, not PKing or Dueling.)
IC/OOC Rules:	we have an OOC staging area for OOC stuff, the rest should be mostly IC (you know, do OOC in tells and such, or at least use OOC text markers).  use the shout channel briefly if you experience a bug or other problem, but it doesn't serve much of an IC purpose.
Maturity Level:	PG-13.  Some adult issues.  Some nudity, in restricted areas.
Completion Status:	This is version 2.  Not everything that could be done has been done, but what PW is not a work-in-progress?

Zabea 2.1 Update Hak     instead of putting the new critters and stuff into the cr and other haks and making you download them ALLLL over again, i put the new stuff into one new hak.  10 meg.  you will need this to connect to the updated Zabea.  Nic Rideable horses, half dragon wings and tails, patch 1.67, and balls.  No use for the balls yet, but maybe polo soon!

JEN X 2 Clothing   a stripped-down version of JenX 2.3.  yes, another jenx rip-off.  if you dont want to download it, you can rename or copy your jenx2.hak to jenx2-cl.hak.  this ought to work, but may cause crashing.  other 'lite' versions of jenx 2.3 ought to work as well, but you MUST rename them, so the server thinks you have this hak.

Lilista's Social Haks     these are updates to the aging Tharcion 4 series.  we will only be using three of these:

• lilista-pl.hak -- placeables updated with new additions, including lots of foliage. wohoo!
• lilista-it.hak -- the new helmets and claws and so forth. PLUS some (though not all) of lisa's holdables.
  
• lilista-cl.hak -- the old tharc clothing made compatible with jenx2! note: the models are preserved, but the numbering had to be changed, so any old tharc clothing has to be updated. (which probably affects nobody, except siobhan. ;) )

Zabea-TI.hak  (16.3M)  the doa city/rural builder base, the jxp mountains,  lilista's updated regular tiles, demon card tiles.

World Specs:

Location:

     Zabea is an island off the main coast, along with a myriad of other islands (open servers).  In general, Zabea is considered to be off the coast of Luskan and Neverwinter, a bit more north than the islands of warmer climes (Tharcion, Runestone, Elysium, Cymir, etc).  We are not fantatic Forgotten Realm people (come to think of it, I've never played an FR game, and Zeph hasn't played ANY roolz games, ever!), so if you want to play it as if Zabea is part of a world or realm your character is from, that's fine.  

     Zabea is accessed by sea; it is a port town.  There is also a magical portal, if your character needs to come from further away, from different realms, worlds, or planes.
     There is a large forest and wilderness area, if you wish to play an animal.  If there is enough interest in this, the wilderness areas will be expanded.

Town Law:

     Zabea is a very staid and morally upright township.  Murder, piracy, thieving, vandalism, rape, assault, and slaving are all punishable under the law.  Zabea does not recognize the statutes of slavery as enforced by other islands (Tharcion, Cymir), and all people setting foot on the island are considered free, with certain inalienable rights.

     Note: Town Law is "IC" law.  This is not to say you may not play a slaver or a pirate or go around murdering and thieving.  Just don't expect to get away with it with impunity.  Also, if you bring any slaves to Zabea, no one will take them away from you, unless the slave requests sanction, or otherwise escapes.  Your rights as a slave owner are not recognized on Zabea.

     Currently around 160 areas, in several major groups:

• Zabea: the Town
• Zabea: the Outskirts
• The Crypts
• The Mythical Forest
• The Mythical Mountains
• The Rabbit Hole
  

     Zabea is still under construction, with more areas and groups in the development, and expansions in current groups.

Game Specs:

Plot/Storyline:

     We don't have one.  Nope.  We're a freeform server; what we are is a venue for character-driven plots and storylines.  You can think of Zabea as a stage, backdrop, or playground where you can act out your fantasies.

Role Play Style:

     Free Form.  That means, we colour outside the lines.  We don't do well with roolz.  We are interested in unique characters -- and that doesn't have to mean a half-orc/half-elf/half-demon/half-dragon, it can be a simple man trying to put his life back together after losing his wife and children to a fire.  We don't do well with limits -- and that doesn't mean we want level 60 uber-characters with maxxed out specs and super-buffed weapons.  It means "why can't I play a kobold, a gnoll, a wolf, a cat, a gargoyle, or an inter-dimensional sentient blob of smoke?" and if the answer is "the Rules," the reply is, "we don't need no steenkin' roolz!"

     Free Form is as Role-Play as you can get.  It is the antithesis of Power-Gaming.  Freeform characters have flaws and weaknesses, and they have more important things to do than go around killing everything, everyone, and bashing all the non-plot furniture.  Things like running a business, finding a lost loved one, discovering one's past, findng one's future, making a difference in the world.
