oooookay, if you REALLY must know. let's see...
Bloodsong's Prediction for Cyber Art:
the human figure is going to come into vogue very strongly
now. especially the nude figure. and, to symbolize the everyman/woman
or generic figure, it will be bald. mainly because poser doesnt do
clothes or hair (at least, not very well.) my figures of course, have
hair OR clothes, sometimes both. hah!
Bloodsong's Definition of Art:
to create something that can be apprehended by other
people.
you'll notice it's terribly broad, and it includes crafts, carpentry, and
whatever your definition of useless schlock art is. but, it does also
include music, video game design, writing, and comic books (which may fall
into other people's definitions of useless schlock art.)
like most definitions of art, it makes no claim to differentiate
BAD art from GOOD art.
Movies:
if you can't quote scenes from any/all of these movies,
dont even talk to me. :) (mainly because i talk mostly in quotes.
if i even talk at all, which i dont.) star wars trilogy, of course!
legend; there really isnt much to this movie, but it is just soooooooo
beautiful. i probably watch this one the most. the princess bride
(inigo rules!!). ladyhawke. hawk the slayer (nobody's ever
heard of THIS thing! hey, jack palance was in it! it was good.)
time bandits (this is just tooooo weird.) (actually, i dont have
hawk the slayer OR time bandits. hmmm...!) where was i?
i hate disney, but i cant live without: the lion king
(no humans, yay!), the rescuers down under. those are the only two
i have. jungle book (animated) has cool cats. beauty and the
beast: cool beast, too bad he turned into an ugly human at the end. (do i
sound like demona yet?) oh! robin hood! i do have this,
taped it off the tv. and balto (wait!! that was the other guy! not
disney. well, it was on the disney channel.) oh, and a goofy
movie! that's a good one. i like goof troop.
ferngully is another good animated movie. oh!
and the transformers the movie!! and whadda soundtrack! hey,
leonard nemoy was in that! and orson welles as unicron!
i like anime, of course. dont have much of it, though. i have ninja scroll, appleseed, and ghost in the shell. i like ninja scroll the best; those demons are cool. so's kagero (or however you spell it). i also have spawn, the hbo animated series, not the live movie.
hellraiser. i love them. i wanna be a cenobite
when i grow up! ;) #3 was pretty lousy, but #4 was excellent. stupid
ending, though. the crow. hey, i had the graphic novels way back
before anybody ever heard of this! they're so good. dunno how
smart it was for james o'barr to license out his property to something 'popular.'
well, money smart, i guess it was. and the movie was done very
well. i dont think the crow comic book series (by various artists)
did very well; i think it diluted the power of the original. (then
again, i have a 'crow' story that is really good, that i want to do...)
penn & teller get killed. this just defies
any category.... but it has ample fake blood and death scenes! too
bad teller doesn't get to scream in it, though; he screams real good. heh
heh!
the last action hero. NObody appreciates this
movie!! i think its great. of course, nobody likes to be
reminded how stupid and unrealistic tv/movies are. i mean, look at
max headroom. NObody liked THAT either! oh that was satire on
the sacred sacrament of Television! ooh! (where was i?)
oh oh oh! these arent movies, but theyre on video. WALLACE AND GROMIT!!! my mom thinks i look like gromit. ::shrug:: these are claymation shows, about half an hour long, and they are superb. we still cant figure out how nick park achieved some of those effects. like those soap suds in 'a close shave.' and how those techno trousers walked around on that roof-vent. i mean, walking up a wall or on the ceiling is no big trick, but it's a hook-shaped vent, and he walks up and around the outside curve, then swings around to the inside, going upside down! man!
